Featherstone and Mordecki Take SUNYAC Baseball Weekly Honors

SYRACUSE, NY - The SUNYAC recognizes Tishawn Featherstone from Oswego as the Baseball Athlete of the Week and Kolby Mordecki from Plattsburgh the Pitcher of the Week.

Featherstone had a great week at the plate with a batting average of .600 and slugging 1.333 in 5 games with 15 at bats. He only struck out once and also had a stolen base. Against St John Fisher, he collected four hits, one of them being a 2 RBI double. Against Brockport, He mashed two home runs in game one with the second one coming in walk off fashion. In his first at bat of game two of the double header, Featherstone crushed another home run to left field. For the week he had 10 RBI and in the field he had 8 put outs. He was integral in taking two out of three games from the Golden Eagles this weekend.

Mordecki started two games for Plattsburgh last week, opening their win over Clarkson and then picking up the series-opening win over Fredonia on Saturday. Mordecki retired all three batters he faced against Clarkson and then turned in his best start of the season against Fredonia, earning his third win of the year. He went seven strong against the Blue Devils, starting the eighth inning before giving way to the bullpen as he struck out seven, scattered six hats, and allowed one earned run. The start lowered his season ERA to 3.60, the fourth best mark in the SUNYAC.
