CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected Nicole Johnston and Sarah Beam as its Field Hockey Athletes of the Week. Johnston had an excellent offensive showing for Oneonta, while Beam shined defensively, winning her second straight Athlete of the Week award.  

Johnston, a native of Bedford Village, had a strong week for the Red Dragons of Oneonta. In two games, the senior scored two goals off of two shots. This effort propelled Oneonta to a 1-1 record.

Beam built on her strong first week performance and carried her prowess in goal onto week two. The junior netminder recorded an impressive 41 saves for the Golden Eagles over three games. Nineteen of those saves came in a losing effort against Vassar College. She finished with a 13.67 saves per contest average.
