SYRACUSE, N.Y. – New Paltz's Yare Harris and Fredonia's Tanner Stutzman earn first SUNYAC Men's Soccer Athlete of the Week awards for the 2023 season.

Harris had an explosive debut for the Hawks this past weekend. He made an immediate impact up top and led the way offensively to help capture the Drew Fall Festival title for SUNY New Paltz and be named the tournament's offensive MVP. Earning the start against Drew, Harris drew both fouls that led to set pieces, resulting in goals for the Hawks. First came in the 69th minute on a free kick just outside the box, which SUNY New Paltz put away to tie the game at 1-1 and then Harris was taken down in the box in the 77th, leading to a game-winning penalty to help capture a 2-1 win. Harris then broke out in SUNY New Paltz's 4-0 rout of Saint Elizabeth University Sunday, scoring the Hawks' first hat trick since 2018 to end the weekend atop the Hawks leaderboard in points.

Stutzman made five saves as the Fredonia men's soccer team shutout Ithaca on Saturday. Stutzman was credited with a tie as neither team scored in the 0-0 contest.
