Rivera and Ott Tabbed SUNYAC Men's Soccer Athletes of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The SUNYAC has named Bufffalo State's Diego Rivera and Cortland's Jordan Ott the Men's Soccer Offensive and Defensive Athletes of the Week respectively.

Rivera was the catalyst for the Buffalo State offense in a 3-0-0 week, recording 11 points on four goals and three assists. The sophomore forward scored a goal and an assist in a 6-0 win over Hilbert on Tuesday. He followed that performance up by netting a pair of goals and adding an assist in a 5-0 win on Friday at the Fredonia Classic, then scoring a goal and an assist on Saturday against Houghton to help Buffalo State claim the title. For his efforts, Rivera was selected to the All-Tournament Team.

Ott posted a 3-0 record with a 0.33 GAA, an .889 save percentage and two shutouts for nationally 10th-ranked Cortland (4-1) last week. He posted his first shutout of the season with two saves in a 4-0 home win versus Manhattanville on Wednesday. In a 2-1 home victory versus 16th-ranked Catholic on Saturday, Ott registered five saves. He finished his week with his second shutout in a 3-0 home win versus Utica with his lone save denying a shot to the upper right corner to keep the game scoreless at the time. For the season, Ott has posted a 4-1 record with 1.20 GAA and two shutouts.
