CORTLAND, N.Y. - This week's State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Q&A is with the Softball Pitcher of the Week, Katie Yudin (Liverpool, NY).

Fredonia's Katie Yudin was named the SUNYAC Softball Pitcher of the Week after she flipped a two-hitter with seven strikeouts in a 6-0 win over Elizabethtown. That was followed by a nine-inning effort vs. Concordia-Chicago that resulted in a 3-2 loss in which she allowed six hits and struck out 10. Yudin has a 1-2 record with a 0.65 earned run average in four appearances this season.

Q&A:

1. If you had to choose another sport to play in college what would it be and why?

I would choose basketball because I played in high school and miss playing it.

2. What's your favorite pro sports team and why?

The Yankees would be my favorite pro sports team because I grew up watching them as a kid so they have just always been my favorite baseball team to watch.

3. What do you feel is the biggest challenge being a student-athlete?

The biggest challenge being a student-athlete would be time management.

4. If you could have one song play every time you score/get a hit/ win a race what would it be?

5. What's your favorite professional sports memory?

6. What's your favorite sports movie?

Miracle

7. Do you have any pre/in game rituals? What are they?

I personally don't have any pre/in game rituals as an individual but as a team we always do a pre-game cheer and stand in the same order. Also before each inning after the catcher throws down, when we meet in the circle, no matter what Cassie says for our "cheer" I always say 3 up 3 down.

My grandfather and my father
