CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected Potsdam junior Megan Fish (Getzville, N.Y.) as the Softball Athlete of the Week, while New Paltz freshman Katie Quagliana (East Amherst, N.Y.) has been picked as the Softball Pitcher of the Week.
Fish helped the Bears to a 4-4 week in Florida. She had 13 hits in 25 at-bats for a .520 batting average. The junior also drove in 13 runs, scored two and posted a .571 on-base percentage along with a .560 slugging percentage.
Quagliana had a memorable collegiate debut against Stevens March 13, going 4.2 innings, while giving up one hit with two strikeouts and a 0 ERA in an exciting 4-3 win. Quagliana then came in for relief in the second game of the double header and continued to produce, giving up five hits with four strikeouts in the last 4.2 innings of an 8-4 win.
