Geneseo Wins 2024 SUNYAC Women's Indoor Track & Field Team Title

BROCKPORT, N.Y. - Geneseo won the 2024 SUNYAC women's indoor track and field championship with 270 points, Saturday at Brockport's SERC Field House. This is the Knights seventh-straight SUNYAC title and 14th overall. Brockport finished second while Cortland was third. 


Individual Awards:

The Women's Most Valuable Performer of the meet with the most overall points for the second year in a row went to Nat Sawyer from Buffalo State.

The Women's Most Outstanding Performance of the meet will be voted on and announced next week.


All-Conference

The All-Conference first, second and third teams consist of the top three finishers in each event.


Elite 20

The SUNYAC Elite 20, is an award modeled after the NCAA ELITE 90 program, which recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the conference championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers. This year there is a tie between Geneseo teammates Nieve Mahood, Payton Mehalick and Veronica Szygalowicz all maintaining a 4.0 GPA. Mahood is a junior psychology major, Mehalick is a sophomore majoring in Biology and Szygalowicz is a senior majoring in Biology and sociomedical sciences.
