Junior netminder Matt Massaria turned in another pair of impressive efforts between the pipes to help the Plattsburgh State men's lacrosse team match its best start in program history. In a road tilt against St. Lawrence on Wednesday afternoon, the Floral Park, N.Y., product made 12 saves in an 11-7 win which was the second in program history and second straight over the Saints who were receiving votes in the latest USILA Division III Coaches Poll. Returning home for the first time since March 11 on Saturday, Massaria withstoof a 38-shot attack by SUNY Geneseo and turned aside 13 potential goals in 57 minutes of action which helped the Cardinals rip the Knights 16-6. Saturday's win marked the biggest win margin in program history over SUNY Geneseo and upped the Cardinals' record to 9-3 and 2-0 in SUNYAC play. Massaria's save percentage of .636 ranks second in the SUNYAC and his play has put the Cardinals' team goals against average to 7.5 which is the second-lowest figure in the SUNYAC.
