| Becca Borquist, New Paltz Rhinebeck, NY / Rhinebeck View Full Bio New Paltz sophomore outside hitter Becca Borquist helped lead New Paltz to a 4-1 week, and she was named to the All-Tournament Team at NYU's Violet Classic that was held from Friday-Saturday. She averaged 4.11 kills per set for the week and also hit at a .286 clip (78-21-199). In addition, she averaged 3.63 digs per set, 0.32 assists per set and 0.32 service aces per set. On Wednesday, she floored 19 kills and hit .326 in a 3-1 victory over the previously-unbeaten Stevens Institute of Technology. Borquist contributed 13 digs and eight kills to the Hawks' cause in a 3-1 triumph over UMass Boston on Friday and closed out the day with a double-double (25 digs, 19 kills) in a 3-0 win against DeSales University. Finally, on Saturday, she chipped in with 12 kills and four digs in a 3-0 victory over the Rochester Institute of Technology before collecting 20 kills and 18 assists in a 3-2 loss to New York University in the nightcap. Borquist currently ranks first in the SUNYAC in kills per set (3.49) and is averaging 3.03 digs per set for the season as well. |
