| Becca Borquist, New Paltz Rhinebeck, NY / Rhinebeck View Full Bio New Paltz sophomore outside hitter Becca Borquist was named the Tournament MVP at the Hartwick/Holiday Inn Tournament, as the Hawks went 4-0 for the week. She hit .290 with 34 kills and seven errors in 93 total attempts and averaged 3.09 kills per set, 2.27 digs per set and 0.91 service aces per set. Against Hartwick College on Friday, she hit .500 with eight kills in 16 total attempts, as the Hawks won, 3-0. Versus Lebanon Valley later on in the evening, she floored seven kills in New Paltz's 3-0 win over the Dutchmen. On Saturday, she kicked off the day by posting a .636 hitting percentage (7-0-11) in the team's 3-0 victory over The City College of New York, and she finished the day with a 12-kill, 13-dig and eight-service ace performance in New Paltz's 3-1 victory over SUNY Oneonta. Borquist currently ranks second in the SUNYAC in kills per set (3.43). New Paltz (24-5, 6-0 SUNYAC), which is riding a 12-match winning streak, finishes up SUNYAC competition with three neutral-site contests from Friday- Saturday, Oct. 25-26, at Buffalo State. |
