New Paltz senior setter Marissa King averaged 9.93 assists per set, 2.60 digs per set and 1.13 service aces per set in a 4-0 week for the Hawks. King became just the eighth student-athlete in the history of the SUNYAC to eclipse 4,000 career assists on Saturday against Buffalo State, and her career total now stands at 4,058. She doled out 46 assists and completed the double-double with 14 digs in the Hawks' 3-2 win over No. 23 Williams College on Wednesday. King then kicked off SUNYAC Pool Play at the Hawk Center on Friday by dishing out 23 assists in New Paltz's 3-0 triumph over The College at Brockport. The Hawks won twice more on Saturday thanks to her strong play, as she collected 49 assists, 12 digs and five service aces in the Hawks' 3-1 victory over Buffalo State before notching 31 assists, nine service aces and eight digs in a 3-0 win over SUNY Oneonta. For the season, she is averaging a SUNYAC-leading 9.76 assists per set, and she ranks second on the team in service aces per set with 0.54. New Paltz (20-5, 6-0 SUNYAC), which is riding an eight-match win streak, returns to action next from Friday-Saturday, Oct. 18-19, at the Hartwick College Holiday Inn.
