
Jeffes and Honan Take Home SUNYAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week Honors
SYRACUSE N.Y. - Cortland's Josh Jeffes and Buffalo State's Bryan Honan have been selected the Men's Track Athlete and Field Athletes of the Week, respectively.
Jeffes broke the school record in the 400-meter dash with his time of 47.42 seconds at the Widener University Danny Curran Invitational on March 28-29 in CHester Pa. He placed first out of 109 competitors in the event and ranks fourth nationally in Division III as of March 30. The previous school record had stood since 2011.
In addition, Jeffes anchored Cortland's winning 4x400-meter relay team that finished in 3:13.36, which ranks first nationally in Division III as of Sunday night.
Honan, who also competed at the Widener event, broke the Buffalo State school record in the hammer throw with a mark of 52.52 meters on his way to a second-place finish in his outdoor debut. The freshman thrower also registered a strong performance in the shot put (12.78 meters) and the discus throw (40.90 meters).
