
2025 SUNYAC Men's Swimming & Diving Annual Awards Released
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The SUNYAC recognizes its 2025 Men's Co-Swimmer of the Year, Diver of the Year, Co-Rookie of the Year and Coaching Staff of the Year honorees as nominated and voted on by the conference coaches.
Men's Co-Swimmer of the Year - Kellen Dickman, Cortland
Kellen was the 100-yard butterfly champion at 2025 SUNYAC-AMCC championship meet. He also finished second in the 200-yard butterfly and ninth in the 200-yard individual medley. In addition, Dickman was a part of the 200-yard medley and 400-yard medley relay teams that touched the wall second. His four top three finishes helped Cortland win the overall team title at the SUNYAC-AMCC championships and placed him on the All-Conference first team.
Men's Co-Swimmer of the Year - James Llewellyn, Oneonta
Llewellyn earned SUNYAC All-Conference honors after finishing second in the 200-yard freestyle and 200-yard backstroke at the 2025 SUNYAC-AMCC championship meet. He was also third in the 200-yard individual medley in a school record time of 1:53.93. Llewellyn was honored with the SUNYAC James Fulton Award at the championships which is given annually to a senior based on a combination of career academic and athletic achievements.
Men's Diver of the Year - Kevin Kohlhoff, Cortland
Kohlhoff finished second on both the 1 and 3-meter dives at the 2025 SUNYAC-AMCC championship meet (highest scoring SUNYAC competitor). For his performances, he was named to the SUNYAC All-Conference second team. He advanced to the NCAA Region 4 championships where he placed 9th on the 1-meter dive and 10th on the 3-meter. Kohlhoff was named the SUNYAC Diver of the Week six times this season.
Men's Swimming & Diving Co-Rookie of the Year - Ayden Baxter, Cortland
Baxter was named to the SUNYAC All-Conference team after finishing second in the 400-yard individual medley at the 2025 championship meet. He was also fifth in the 500 and 1650-yard freestyle races. In addition, Baxter was a part of the B 800-yard freestyle relay team that placed 10th overall.
Men's Swimming & Diving Co-Rookie of the Year - Mitchell Stevens, Oswego
In his first year swimming for the Lakers, Stevens finished fourth in both the 100-yard butterly and the 200-yard butterfly at the 2025 SUNYAC-AMCC championships. He also placed seventh in the 200-yard backstroke at the league championship meet.
Coaching Staff of the Year - Cortland
Brian Tobin is the head men's swimming and diving coach at Cortland. He is assisted by Veronica Ribot-Canales, Beth Tomlinson, Rob Lorenz, Aiden Poli, Tom Eickelberg and Ryan Hagadorn. The staff led their team to the program's eighth SUNYAC title overall and first since 2013. There were 14 Red Dragons named to the All-Conference team after finishing in the top three among SUNYAC competitors at the league championship meet. Cortland had two divers finish in the top 10 at the NCAA Division III Region 4 Diving Regionals.
