Buffalo State Names Steger Interim Head Swimming & Diving Coach

Former Bengal swimmer and assistant coach Nathan Steger has been promoted to interim head men's and women's swimming and diving coach at Buffalo State effective immediately and will lead the Bengals for the 2014-15 season.

Steger will also become the head aquatics manger, replacing Dan Allen who resigned after four seasons at Buffalo State to become the head coach at Pace University.
Steger joined the Bengals staff in 2011 as an assistant coach.  He swam for two seasons at Division I UNC-Wilmington, placing Top-16 in three events at the CAA Championships, before concluding his collegiate career at Buffalo State.  He was team captain and MVP as a senior, and is a six-time school record holder in the 200 and 400 IM, 200 fly, 200 and 400 medley relays, and the 800 free relay.  He also earned All-SUNYAC honors as a senior. 

He has served as an assistant coach with STAR Swimming since 2008, and also coached for two years at Orchard Park Country Club.  A native of Blasdell, he graduated from Frontier High School.
