Mager and McCullough Named ECAC Men's and Women's Basketball Player of the Week

SUNY Oneonta sophomore forward Zach Mager (New City, NY) and the State University of New York at New Paltz senior forward Alex McCullough (Delmar, NY) have been named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Upstate Men's and Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

Mager led Oneonta to a 2-1 record for the week with three 20+ point performances. He scored 26 points and grabbed nine boards, as Oneonta avenged an early season loss to Fredonia. Against Buffalo State, Mager recorded a double-double in leading the Red Dragons to a 72-67 win over the Bengals.

McCullough led New Paltz to a perfect 3-0 week of SUNYAC play. She led the Hawks with 18 points, nine rebounds and three steals on Tuesday in a 75-66 win over Oswego, and led the team again on Friday with 15 points and seven boards in an overtime victory over Buffalo State. She closed out the week with another solid effort, posting 13 points, eight rebounds, three blocked shots and a career-high five steals in Saturday's top-seed clinching win over Fredonia. McCullough averaged 15.3 points, 8.0 rebounds, 4.0 steals and 2.33 blocks per game this week. She currently leads the first-place Hawks with 10.6 points and 1.8 blocks per game this season.
