SYRACUSE, N.Y. - New Paltz's Brianna Fitzgerald has been selected as the SUNYAC Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week.

Fitzgerald was the catalyst in a 50-37 road win over Union Saturday. She led her team in virtually every statistical category finishing with game-high's in points (16), steals (4), blocks (3) and assists (4), along with a team-high of nine rebounds, just short of her third double-double of the season, while shooting 7-for-16 from the field. Fitzgerald helped stymy a Dutchmen comeback late in the game, answering with a basket in the paint, driving through two defenders, then on the ensuing defensive possession stepped in for a charge to create the turnover to help maintain a double-digit lead for the Hawks in the final minute.
