
Hull, Canham and Conlon Take SUNYAC Women's Ice Hockey Weekly Awards
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The SUNYAC picks Oswego's Mack Hull, Morrisville's Sydney Canham and Plattsburgh's Kate Conlon as this week's Women's Ice Hockey Athlete, Goaltender and Rookie of the Week respectively.
The Lakers earned two conference wins along with a win over #11 Utica this week. On Friday against Buffalo State, Hull scored one goal while assisting on another as Oswego cruised to victory over the Bengals, 7-0. Saturday was a might tighter contest and Mack Hull assisted on the first goal of the game, as well as the overtime game winning goal. Hull currently leads the SUNYAC in points as well as goals while being tied second for assists.
Canham put together a solid performance in net for the Mustangs in two key matchups with Potsdam over the weekend. The freshman earned her first collegiate win with a 1-0 shut out on Friday where she posted 18 saves, before registering 24 in Saturday's battle for her second win and Mustang sweep of Potsdam. Across the weekend, Canham collected 42 total stops, a 1.01 goals against average and .955 save effort, while going 2-0-0.
First-year forward Conlon tallied two points last week, finishing with a +3 plus-minus and two shots over three games. In Plattsburgh's final game of the week, Conlon assisted on both of the team's goals, giving herself her first career multi-point game as the Cardinals defeated No. 10 Cortland.
