Oneonta wins SUNYAC women's soccer championship

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Oneonta women's soccer beat top-seeded Buffalo State, 3-1 to clinch the 2015 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) title, Saturday at Coyer Field. The Red Dragons earned an automatic bid into the NCAA DIII Women's Soccer Championship Tournament with the win.

This is the 13th overall SUNYAC women's soccer crown for the Red Dragons and first since 2013.

Oneonta sophomore, Amanda Roney scored the first goal to make it 1-0 going into halftime. Buffalo State senior Meghan Allan tied the game just under 10 minutes into the second half. The scored remained tied until seniors Kayla Distin and Kayla Ceschini both scored with less than seven minutes left in the game to make it 3-1.

Senior goalkeepers Kelley Murphy and Rori Stark split the time in goal and combined for 13 saves.
