CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announces the 2015 women's soccer individual awards including Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year and Coach of the Year as voted on by the conference coaches. The All-Conference teams have also been released.

Buffalo State's Melissa Smith (N. Tonawanda, NY / Niagara-Wheatfield ) was named the Offensive Player of the Year. As a junior forward, Semith finished first in the conference in two different categories, shots per game, and assists per game. Smith finished the season with a total of 10 goals, including the only two goals recorded against Plattsburgh in a 2-1 victory on October 17. She also had a total of six assists this season, bringing her points per game to a 1.30.

Gabrianna Boldinski (Tonawanda, NY / Kenmore East ) was selected as the Defensive Player of the Year. Boldinski was a part of a solid defense that led Buffalo State to become the regular season conference champions. She helped the Bengals defense which had a total of nine shutouts over the season. In the 18 games played, she had four goals with a total of 21 shots.

Oswego's Chloe Lonergan (Chcero, NY / Cicero-North Syracuse) was named the Rookie of the Year. Lonergan started 17 out of 18 games this season for the Lakers. She was a part of a defense that hosted five shutouts.  When asked about her, Oswego's head coach Brian McGrane stated, “From the minute Chloe committed to Oswego in the summer going into her senior year we knew we were getting a player that would step in right away and play.  She didn't disappoint.”

Buffalo State head coach Nicholas DeMarsh was honored as the Coach of the Year. DeMarsh coached his Bengals to a 15-4-1 overall record this season, improving from their 2014 overall record of 7-8-5. This marks his eighth winning season out of the past 12. Buffalo State finished the conference regular-season undefeated (8-0-1) as the top seed. This is DeMarsh's second time earning the Coach of the Year, with the previous one being in the 2010 season.
