Geneseo and New Paltz to face off in 2016 SUNYAC Tennis Championship Final
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – The two top-seeded teams in the East and West, New Paltz and Geneseo, will face off in the 2016 SUNYAC Tennis Championship, Monday at 10 a.m. at the Binghamton Tennis Center. Geneseo looks to capture its sixth straight and 10th overall SUNYAC crown, while New Paltz pushes to grab its fifth SUNYAC title.

In Sunday's semifinals, the Hawks topped Plattsburgh, 5-2 (Box Score) while the Knights beat Oneonta, 5-0. (Box Score)

In the first semifinal of the day Plattsburgh's first doubles team of Kaitlyn Healy and Kelci Henn earned the team's lone point winning their match 8-4. New Paltz got its next three team points for the win from Olivia Ammariti, Carol Tyson and Lindsay Haley at first, third and fifth singles respectively.

Geneseo jumped to a 3-0 lead after a fight to win first doubles. Anika Pornpitaksuk and Lauren Salzano went 10-8 in the tiebreaker to win the match 9-8. Sienna Susko and Vanessa Lam-Tran went on to win third and fourth singles to help the Knights take the match.

In the consolation matches Sunday morning, Cortland defeated Brockport, 5-3, (Box Score) and Fredonia beat Oswego, 5-2 (Box Score).
