The Bears are 23-16 this season, reaching the SUNYAC and ECAC Championship tournaments for the first time since 2008. Potsdam will be led by two-time first team All-SUNYAC setter Jenna Blujus and second team all-conference outside hitter Rachel Auerbach. Blujus, a junior, finished first on the team in assists (1,104), digs (463), and service aces (84). Her 84 aces were also tops in the SUNYAC. Auerbach, a freshman, led the team with 322 kills and finished second in both service aces (43) and assists (75). She tallied 202 digs and 36 blocks to add to her all around strong season.
The tournament’s semifinals and championship will be held on Saturday, Nov. 10 on the campus of the highest remaining seed. Potsdam last met Kean on Oct. 1, 2011, downing the Cougars 3-1 in New Jersey.
