Ice Hockey All-American Teams and National Coach of the Year Announced
The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) is proud to announce that it has four athletes that made the Men's Division II-III CCM Hockey All-Americans Teams as well as the STX/AHCA Division III Men's Ice Hockey Coach of the Year. Members of The American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) chose who won the awards and CCM Hockey and STX sponsored these awards.

Zachary Vit, (Villanova, PA) a senior for the Geneseo Knights was named to the All-American East First Team for the forward position. Vit was also the SUNYAC Player of the Year as he finished the season with 18 goals and 12 assists to account for his 30 points.Â

Barry Roytman, (Staten Island, NY) a senior from SUNY Plattsburgh made the All-American East Second Team at the defensive position. Roytman ended his final season with five goals and nine assists for a total of 14 points to finish off his career at SUNY Plattsburgh.

For the All-American East Third Team the SUNYAC had two athletes honored as both Alex Jensen (Helsingborg, Sweden) and Kevin Carr (Unionville, Ontario) made the list. Alex Jenson, a junior at SUNY Plattsburgh is one of the forwards for the team who finished the season with 29 points with 13 goals and 16 assists. Kevin Carr, a senior for Buffalo State grabbed the third team goalie spot as he finished his final season for Buffalo State. He saved 903 shots this season with a 92.9% for saves and only allowed 2.57 goals per game.

The STX/AHCA Division III Men's Ice Hockey Coach of the Year award went to the Geneseo Knights Head Coach Chris Schultz. Schultz led the Knights to win the SUNYAC regular season title, and came just short of winning the SUNYAC Championship falling to Oswego State in one of the best SUNYAC Championship games ever played. The Knights earned an at-large bid into the NCAA's where Schultz has led his team to their first-ever two wins in the NCAA Division III Tournament. Geneseo has reached the semifinals of the NCAA Division III Tournament and they will face St. Nobert (Wisconsin) tonight to see who will move on to the NCAA Championship game. Schultz was also named the 2014 SUNYAC Ice Hockey Coach of the Year.
