Plattsburgh to host Oswego in SUNYAC ice hockey championship

CORTLAND, N.Y. – The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Men's ice hockey finals will take place this Saturday, March 7 at 7 p.m. as top-seeded Plattsburgh hosts No. 2 seeded Oswego.

Both Plattsburgh and Oswego had a first round bye. In the semifinals on Saturday February 28, Plattsburgh defeated No. 6 Brockport 7-5 and Oswego beat No. 5 Buffalo State 2-0 to advance to the championships.

The Plattsburgh Cardinals finished the regular season with a 13-2-1 record in the conference. They are currently 19-5-2 overall. The Cardinals have won 21 SUNYAC championships overall, the last time they captured the crown was in 2012.

The Oswego State Lakers held the No. 2 seed in the conference with a 12-2-2 record and are currently 18-3-4 overall. The defending 2014 SUNYAC Champions, Lakers are looking to secure a third straight and 11th overall SUNYAC title.
