Plattsburgh Men's Lacrosse to Host "Cardinals Clip Cancer" Event Oct. 19

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State men's lacrosse team wraps up its non-traditional season this Saturday will a full slate of events, highlighted by the annual "Cardinals Clip Cancer" event. This year's event will take place at Olive Ridley's on Saturday at noon and all proceeds from the event will benefit the St. Baldrick's Foundation.
 
The St. Baldrick's Foundation is the world's largest volunteer-driven fundraising program for childhood cancer research. This year marks Plattsburgh State's fifth year supporting the program, which the Cardinals have donated more than $30,000 to from numerous fundraising events.
 
At the "Cardinals Clip Cancer" event, team members and members of the Cardinals' coaching staff will be shaving their heads to illustrate solidarity for children who lose their hair while undergoing cancer treatments. All are welcome at Olive Ridley's, which is located at 37 Court Street in downtown Plattsburgh, to take part in the event.
 
Following the fundraiser, the Cardinals will take the field in special "St. Baldrick's" jerseys for a scrimmage against McGill University at 4 p.m. at the Field House Turf Complex. The day closes out with the men's lacrosse alumni game at 6 p.m. followed by a Plattsburgh Youth Lacrosse Club game.
