Brockport's Joe Marino and Potsdam's Caitlin Titus Recognized by ECAC

The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced the players of the week for the week ending September 12. SUNYAC had two athletes garner recognition during the first week of the program for the 2010 season.

Brockport's Joe Marino (Rochester, NY/McQuaid) and Potsdam's Caitlin Titus (Jamesville, NY/Jamesville-DeWitt) were each named the SUNYAC athletes of the week for men's and women's soccer, respectively, and went on to be selected as the ECAC defensive players of the week.

Marino posted two shutouts last week while minding the net for the Golden Eagles. They were his third and fourth for the season, bringing his goals against average to 0.39 on the year. His six saves against Hobart were just enough to give Brockport the win, handing the Statesmen their first loss of the season.

Titus helped Potsdam to a 2-0 week when she kept Wells College off the board in the Bears’ 3-0 win. She then recorded her second career solo shutout in a 1-0 win over Sage College. Potsdam improves to 4-1 on the season and Titus has not allowed a goal in her last 225 minutes of action.
