Geneseo Men's Cross Country Earns Third, Three Knights Earn All-America Honors

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The SUNY Geneseo Men's Cross Country team raced to a third-place finish in the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships at Forest Akers Golf Course in East Lansing, Mich. on Saturday afternoon. Nick Andrews, Ezra Ruggles and Alex Hillyard each earned All-America honors to lead the Knights to the podium. 

Andrews cross the line in 24:59.8 to take sixth overall while Ruggles crossed in 25:33.4 for 33rd place and Hillyard took 39th with a 25:36.4 finish. The trio become the first three Geneseo teammates to each earn Cross Country All-America honors since 2010 when Lee Berube, Eddie Novara and Ryan O'Connor each earned All-America honors as they led the Knights to a seventh-place team finish.
Dillon McClary crossed in 48th with a time of 25:43.2 while William Hall placed 74th with a time of 25:56.9. Ben Timmons (129th, 26:14.1) and Ryan Mitchell (195th, 26:37.2) rounded out the Knights' top seven. 

Geneseo placed third overall, the highest team finish at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships since 2016 when the team finished as the national runner-up. It marks the second time in program history the Knights have finished third overall. Geneseo placed behind national champion MIT (82) and Wartburg (129) with 168 team points.
