SUNYAC Releases 2022 Men's Cross Country Awards

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The SUNYAC is honored to announce its 2022 men's cross country annual awards as voted on by the conference coaches. Geneseo's Nick Andrews has been named Runner of the Year while Oneonta's Owen Sullivan was honored as the Rookie of the Year. Brockport was voted Coaching Staff of the Year.

Runner of the Year - Nick Andrews, Geneseo
Andrews was the 2022 SUNYAC men's cross country champion finishing the 8K course in 25:28.5. The Knights earned their eighth-straight and 20th overall SUNYAC team title. Andrews was also the Niagara Region champion and went on to earn All-American status after finishing sixth at the NCAA DIII men's cross country championship.

Rookie of the Year - Owen Sullivan, Oneonta
Sullivan finished 34th at the 2022 SUNYAC championship meet in a time of 27:39.9. At the Niagara regional he was the top freshman finisher crossing the line 29th in 26:30.9.

Coaching Stafff of the Year - Brockport
John Davis led his team to a second place finish at the 2022 SUNYAC men's cross country meet. He had four athletes named to the All-Conference team including a fourth place finish by Paul Suflita. Suflita went on to earn All-American status with a 28th place finish at the NCAA men's cross country championship.
