Buffalo State's Kiliszek Tabbed as SUNYAC and ECAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week

FREDONIA, NY— The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) named Buffalo State senior guard Barb Kiliszek (Depew, NY/Lancaster) Women’s Basketball  Player of the Week after helping lead the Bengals to a pair of road victories and becoming the 12th player in school history to score 1,000 career points. Kiliszek was also named the ECAC Upstate Region Player of the Week.

Kiliszek finished with 11 points, six rebounds and three steals in the 65-58 win over Plattsburgh on Friday night. She also had a 15-point, seven-rebound and seven-assist performance in the win over Potsdam on Saturday. Buffalo State has now won six straight games and 14 of its last 15.

An electrical engineering major, she is averaging 10.9 points-per-game and leads the Bengals with 83 assists and 86 steals.  She set the school record for career steals earlier this season with 397 and counting.  This is the second conference player of the week award of her career.

Buffalo State is tied atop the SUNYAC with Oneonta with an 11-2 mark in the conference and is 18-2 overall.  The Bengals will close out their regular season home schedule this weekend, hosting Geneseo on Friday at 6 p.m., and then welcoming Brockport for senior day on Saturday at 2 p.m.
