Cortland Wins SUNYAC Women's Lacrosse Championship

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The Cortland Red Dragons women's lacrosse team has captured the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) title for the 16th straight season win a 14-3 win against No. 2 Geneseo at Cortland's Stadium Complex today.

Undefeated Cortland (19-0) was led by Junior Emma Hayes-Hurley with four goals and added an assist. She also collected four ground balls and won four draw controls to earn Tournament MVP honors. Sophomore Erica Geremia tallied a game-high seven points on one goal and six assists. Senior Taylor Reh and sophomores Tara Monaghan and Ashley Gentile each netted three goals, while junior Marilyn Farrell registered four assists.

Sophomore goalie Liz Ingalls made four saves in 48:48 for the Red Dragons. Freshman Jaclyn Beshlian played the final 11:12, stopping four shots and allowing no goals. Senior Heather Casey recorded four ground balls, and Gentile won four draws.
