INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The NCAA Division III Women’s Soccer Committee announced the 63-team field for the 2010 NCAA Tournament earlier today. Plattsburgh State received an at large bid for the tournament, which is set to begin on Thursday. The Cardinals will face University of Scranton at 1:30 p.m. at Cozzens Field on the campus of William Smith College.
The William Smith Herons, who will serve as the first and second round host, are scheduled to face Keuka College at 11 a.m. The winners of Saturday’s games will play at 1 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
Plattsburgh is 15-3-1 overall and advanced to the SUNYAC Championship game, eventually losing to Oneonta, 2-1. This marks the third NCAA Tournament appearance for the Cardinals and their second in a row.
The University of Scranton Royals are 15-4-1 and claimed the Landmark Conference Championship to receive an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament. The Cardinals defeated Scranton earlier this season, 1-0 in double overtime, to win the Skidmore Classic title.
