Men's and Women's Cross Country NCAA Results; Three SUNYAC Athletes Earn All-America Honors

NCAA Division III Men’s and Women's Cross Country Championships Results

Full Men's Results

The top 35 men's finishers in the 280-runner field were recognized as All-Americans.

The Geneseo men’s cross country team placed 18th paced by a 10th-place (24:46.70) showing by senior Alex Brimstein (Webster/Thomas). Brimstein earned All-America honors. Senior Tom Clark (Wantagh/Wantagh) was Geneseo’s second finisher, placing 55th in 25:20.6. Sophomore Ryan Moynihan (Geneseo/Geneseo) was 123rd in 25:51.7 and senior Tim Chambers (Baldwinsville/C.W. Baker) finished in 26:22.2, good for 203rd place. Senior Chris Moore (Syracuse/Westhill) came in 207th with a time of 26:24.9, senior Chris Mateer (Webster/Thomas) was 211th in 26:27.3 and senior Chris Carter (Grand Island/Grand Island) posted a time of 26:45.3 to finish 234th.

Cortland sophomore Nick Marcantonio (Glens Falls) finished 23rd in 24:58.70 to earn All-America honors. Senior Tom Hopkins (Syracuse/West Genesee) finished 132nd in 25:53.7 and junior Cody Amengual (West Babylon) was 151st in 26:02.9. Also competing for Cortland were sophomore Jarred Iacovelli (Manahawkin, NJ/Southern Regional) in 182nd place (26:15.2), senior Brent Pavlick (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa) in 245th place (26:55.0) and junior Tim Lee (West Babylon) in 262nd place (27:26.9).

Freshman Alex Ngabo (Rochester/Greece-Athena) became the first Buffalo State runner to compete at the NCAA Division III Men’s Cross Country Championships in 28 years. He placed 63rd.

Sophomore from Fredonia, Zakk Hess (Clyde) finished in a time of 26:15.9 placing him 184th.

The top 35 women's finishers in the 277-runner field were recognized as All-Americans.

Brockport's Rachel Malone (Fairport, NY/Fairport) placed 34th and was the top State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) runner to cross the finish line (21:57) earning All-America honors.

Sophomore Cassie Goodman (Phelps/Midlakes) was the top finisher for the Geneseo Blue Knights, placing 76th in a time of 22:34.8. Also for Geneseo, Senior Cailin Kowalewski (Fredonia/Fredonia) finished 106th in the 277-runner field, posting a time of 22:48.5. Junior Rebekah Steinke (Lima/Honeouye Falls-Lima) finished the 6,000-meter course in 23:22.0, good for 186th. Senior Emily Sullivan (West Seneca West/West Seneca West) came in 204th in a time of 23:29.4. Sophomore Alyssa Knott (Smithtown/West) was 215th in 23:37.3. Junior Mary Aldridge (Rochester/Brighton) finished in a time of 23:45.1, placing 226th and senior Brigid Heenan (Liverpool/Liverpool) placed 254th in 24:11.2.

Cortland's junior Emily Cotey (Norwood/Norwood-Norfolk) finished in 105th in 22:47.6 and senior Jordyn Naylon (Fairport) placed 224th in 23:43.4.
