MOUNT MORRIS, N.Y. - Geneseo sophomore Isaac Garcia-Cassani bested a field of 288 runners to lead the Knights to first place out of 45 teams at the NCAA Division III Atlantic Regional Championships, hosted by Geneseo at Letchworth State Park, Saturday.

The finish automatically qualifies the Knights for their 13th-consecutive NCAA Division III Championship race as the top-two teams in the region earn automatic berths while the other finishers will be considered for at-large berths distributed throughout the nation's eight total regions.

Geneseo placed five runners in the top-20 to record 54 points and come away with the win. Garcia-Cassani covered the eight-kilometer course in a time of 25:11.1 as junior Alfredo Mazzuca crossed the finish line in fifth (25:26.2).

Cortland's Mitch Ryan crossed the line sixth in 25:29.4 while Fredonia's Collin Mulcahy and Kyle Collins were eight and ninth respectively.

The NCAA Division III Championships is Saturday, Nov. 21, hosted by Wisconsin-Oshkosh at the Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winnecone, Wis. The men's race is scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m.
