
Infante Tabbed SUNYAC Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Plattsburgh senior Franklin Infante has been selected as the SUNYAC Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week after an impressive weekend.
Infante averaged 23.0 points per game, 7.0 rebounds per game, 2.0 steals per game, and 2.0 assists per game in a huge weekend for Plattsburgh State leading the Cardinals to a 2-0 weekend that helped Plattsburgh clinch the fourth seed and home-court in the first round of the SUNYAC tournament. Infante's best performance came in a 78-77 overtime win against Buffalo State as he recorded the game-winning free throw as well as led the team in scoring with a game-high 24 points on an efficient 53.3 percent shooting. He also had seven rebounds, two assists, and a steal. Infante followed that up with another 20-point performance this time scoring 22 points while shooting 61.5 percent in a dominant win against Fredonia that helped Plattsburgh secure the fourth seed. He also grabbed seven rebounds and recorded three steals. Overall, Infante averaged 35.5 minutes per game while shooting 57.1 percent from the field and 76.5 percent from the free throw line.
