ICE HOCKEY PLAYER - Fredonia
Jordan Oye, senior foward
Fredonia State senior Jordan Oye (Richmond, BC/ Robert A McMath) scored two goals and added four assists as the Blue Devils went 1-1 on the weekend. Fredonia rallied Friday night for a 5-3 win over Potsdam after trailing 3-1. Oye took part in every goal for Fredonia scoring a power-play goal in the first period, a short-handed goal in the final three minutes of the game and picking up as assist on the other three scores. The win gave Fredonia its first back-to-back wins of the season. On Saturday, the Blue Devils fell 4-2 to #13 Plattsburgh as Oye registered one assist.

ICE HOCKEY GOALIE - Buffalo State
Kevin Carr, freshman goalie
Kevin Carr (Unionville, ONT/Unionville) backstopped Buffalo State its first-ever sweep in North Country, as the Bengals defeated #13 Plattsburgh, 6-2, and Potsdam, 4-2. Buffalo State was outshot a combined 104-54, but Carr made 100 saves in the two games, posting a .962 combined save percentage. He made 43 saves against the Cardinals and followed up with 57 stops verse the Bears. Buffalo State is undefeated in its last five games after starting the season 0-2.

Collin Breen (Waterloo, Ontario/Waterlook Siskins) made his first collegiate start between the pipes and earned a victory with a 6-3 decision against Cortland. He made 43 saves and turned back shots at a 93.5 percent clip. The win was the second in a row for Morrisville and the fourth of the last five games as the Mustangs improved to 4-2.

Nate Foley, junior
Nate Foley (Slingerlands, NY/Bethlehem) led the Geneseo men's swimming and diving team to three wins when the Knights traveled to Hamilton for a quad meet and swept the competition, 153-86 over the hosts, 131-112 over Hartwick and 130-113 over Ithaca. Foley was a double winner for Geneseo as he won the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 4:55.03 and the 1,000 free in a time of 10:07.42. He out touched the competition in the 500 free by six-one hundredths of a second and won the 1000 free by three seconds.

Geneseo senior Michelle Rodriguez (Yorktown, NY/Yorktown) earns her second consecutive SUNYAC women's swimmer of the week honor. Rodriquez and Geneseo defeated Hamilton, 160-82, and Hartwick, 170.5-72.5, and fell to Ithaca, 125-118, at the Hamilton Quad meet. The senior won the 200 freestyle in an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 1:54.47, the 100 freestyle in an NCAA provisional qualifying and pool-record time of 52.41 and anchored the winning 400 freestyle relay team (3:39.68) with the fastest 100-yard split. Rodriquez beat her opponents in the 100 free by four-one-hundredths of a second, six full seconds in the 200 free and almost eight seconds on the relay.

Dan Brigano (Utica, NY/Proctor) was a double-winner for the Brockport against Oswego to earn his second straight SUNYAC male diver of the week honor. Brigano won the 3-meter board for the third time this season with a score of 272.55 and posted his second win of the season in the 1-meter event with a 262.30.

Ficarro posted season-bests in the 1-meter (263.85) and the 3-meter (256.30) and her 1-meter score was an NCAA qualifying score.

Errol Daniyan, senior forward
Plattsburgh senior Errol Daniyan (Coram, NY/Longwood) started the 2010-2011 season off in high fashion as he became the 13th Cardinal to score 1,000 career points and earn the SUNYAC men's basketball player of the week. Daniyan averaged 19.3 points while shooting 59 percent (23 of 39) and grabbed 8.7 boards in three games during the week, as Plattsburgh finished 2-1. He scored 24 points in the win over Lyndon State and 18 points in a close 86-80 loss to Western Connecticut. Daniyan closed out his week with 16 points and nine boards against Wheelock.

Byrne led the Red Dragons to a 3-0 start on the season, averaging 15 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.3 steals. She started the week with 16 points and six rebounds in a win at Elmira on seven-of-ten from the field. Byrne chipped in with 12 points against St. John Fisher and added 17 points versus Skidmore on her way to being named the MVP of the Skidmore Invitational.
