Plattsburgh wins SUNYAC men's ice hockey championship

OSWEGO, N.Y. – Plattsburgh defeated Oswego, 3-2, to win the men's ice hockey State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) championship title, Saturday night at the Marano Campus Center Arena in Oswego. With the win the Cardinals earned an automatic bid into the 2017 NCAA Division III men's ice hockey tournament.

This is the 23rd SUNYAC ice hockey championship overall for Plattsburgh and sixth in the last 10 seasons.

Joe Drabin and Schuyler Seyfert scored first for the Cardinals while Antoine Desnoyers had the eventual game-winning goal. Goaltender, Brady Rouleau was named SUNYAC Tournament MVP after totaling 49 saves, with 31 in the final game, and averaging two goals against vs. Geneseo and Plattsburgh.

Shawn Hulshof and Kenny Neil both had one goal and one assist for the Lakers while Alex Botten added two assists Saturday night.
