2011 Men's Lacrosse Tournament Bracket Announced

The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) men’s lacrosse regular season came to an end Saturday and the top four teams in the standings will now advance to the 2011 tournament.
The nationally fifth-ranked Cortland men's lacrosse team closed out the regular season at 13-2 overall and 6-0 in the SUNYAC to earn the No. 1 seed. The Red Dragons will face No. 4 Brockport in the semifinals on Wednesday May 4th at 4pm in Cortland.  Brockport clinched the fourth and final position with a win over Oswego on Saturday to finish in a tie with Plattsburgh at 3-3 in conference play. The Golden Eagles defeated the Cardinals in head-to-head action earlier in the season to earn the tie-break.
Potsdam (7-8, 4-2) will serve as the No. 2 seed and take on third-seeded Geneseo (7-6, 4-2) on Wednesday at 4pm. Both teams had identical conference records but Potsdam won the head-to-head game, 9-8, two weeks ago to earn the right to host the semifinal game.
The winners will face off on Saturday May 7th at the highest remaining seed. If it is at Cortland the game will be at 4pm, if it is held somewhere else the game will be played at 1pm.
