SUNYAC announces Men's Lacrosse Weekly Honors

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected two Red Dragons as the Men's Lacrosse Athlete and Goalie of the Week. Cortland's Terrence Haggerty (Harborfields, N.Y.) earned the Athlete of the Week honor while Oneonta's Zachary Flynn (Stony Brook, N.Y.) was named the Goalie of the Week. 

Haggerty helped lead the Cortland Red Dragons to a pair of home victories last week, scoring a total of 12 points on eight goals and four assists. In a 19-6 win versus Scranton on Wednesday, Haggerty tallied a career-high eight points on five goals and three assists. He then recorded three goals and one assist in a 22-3 win versus Potsdam on Saturday, becoming the 57th player in program history to reach 100 career points (86-16-102). Haggerty hit the milestone in just 28 games. For the season, Haggerty leads the Red Dragons with 44 points on a team-high 32 goals and 12 assists. Cortland hosts Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) on April 3, set to start at 7 p.m.

Flynn posted a pair of wins last week while in goal for the Red Dragons of Oneonta, including a conference victory over Brockport to open the SUNYAC schedule. In 45 minutes of play, Flynn made two saves in a commanding win against Anna Maria, 14-2, before posting 17 saves in an 11-6 win against Brockport. Flynn is currently 6-5 on the season with a 10.34 goals against average and a save percentage of just under 55 percent. Oneonta returns to action against Geneseo on Saturday, April 6 with a 7 p.m. start.
