SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The 2023 SUNYAC men's lacrosse champions, Geneseo, secured the No. 1 spot in the 2024 preseason poll, voted on by the conference coaches. Cortland was voted No. 2 followed by Oswego.
The Knights defeated Cortland, 13-7, to win the 2023 SUNYAC men's lacrosse championship crown for the fourth time overall and first time since 2007. Geneseo advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament ending its season 15-5 overall.
Cortland fell short in the 2023 SUNYAC championship, but will compete to take back the trophy in 2024 to win the program's 29th overall conference crown. The Red Dragons finished the 2023 season 13-5 overall.
Oswego finished the 2023 regular season No. 3 in the conference and ended its season in the semifinals. The Lakers look to capture their first-ever SUNYAC conference title in 2024. Oswego finished 2023 with an overall record of 7-6.
Men's lacrosse conference competition will begin March 23. The championship tournament will start with the semifinals on May 1 followed by the championship game on May 4.
