SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The SUNYAC names Brockport's Nick Askin the Men's Lacrosse Offensive Athlete of the Week while Potsdam's Saka Thompson earns Defensive Athlete of the Week honors for the fourth time this season.
Askin exploded for 10 points on the week (9G, 1A), including a 7-point, 6-goal effort against Potsdam. Askin finished the season with 63 goals for 70 points, setting new Brockport single-season records in both goals and points.
Thompson helped the Bears to two more wins and a playoff berth with a 6.64 goals-against average and a .676 save percentage. He allowed just one goal and made six saves in a 17-4 win over Plattsburgh on Wednesday. In a playoff clinching 11-10 overtime victory, the sophomore made 17 saves, two in overtime. Thompson leads the SUNYAC in goals against average (7.17) and save percentage (.659)
