Plattsburgh Captures 2013 SUNYAC Men's Soccer Title

SUNY Plattsburgh men's soccer captures its eighth State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) title and first since 2010 after defeating second-seeded Cortland, 2-1, Saturday.

With the win, the Cardinals (15-5-1) earn an automatic bid into the 2013 NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Tournament which will be their first appearance since 2010.

No. 4 Plattsburgh defeated fifth seeded Buffalo State in the SUNYAC quarterfinals, 2-1 and upset the top-seeded Oneonta in the semifinals.

This is the seventh SUNYAC Championship for Plattsburgh under current head coach Chris Waterbury.
