Cortland Sweeps SUNYAC Men's Indoor T&F Weekly Awards

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The SUNYAC has chosen Cortland's Brett Morse and Dane Sorensen as the Men's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week.

Morse won both the 60-meter hurdles (8.16) and the long jump (6.82 meters/22' 4.5") and was third in the 200-meter dash (22.54) at the Utica Holiday Classic, helping Cortland finish first out of 12 schools at the meet. His 60-meter hurdles time ranks him fourth nationally in Division III and his 200-meter dash time ranks 14th nationally. All three of his performances were All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) qualifiers, and he currently ranks first in the SUNYAC in the 60-meter hurdles and second in the 200 meters.

Sorensen repeats as the Field Athlete of the Week after he set a Cortland school record in the pole vault with his winning height of 5.01 meters (16' 5.25") at the Utica Holiday Classic. His height currently ranks him second nationally in Division III in the event and first in both the AARTFC and SUNYAC. Sorensen helped Cortland finish first out of 12 schools in the final team standings.
