CORTLAND, N.Y. - Top seeded Cortland captured the 2015 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) softball title with a win over Geneseo, 9-2, Sunday. This is the 13th overall SUNYAC softball crown for the Red Dragons.
As the SUNYAC Champions, Cortland earns an automatic bid into the 2015 NCAA Division III Softball Tournament.
Niki Barbato went 3-for-3 at bat for Cortland in the final game while Diane Cork and Mikayla Shade each had three RBI. Jamie Lachall earned the win on the mound for the Red Dragons.
Sami Brown had four hits and two RBI for the Knights in the championship game and was honored on the All-Tournament team for her performances in the five games of the tournament.
