OVERALL RESULTS
BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Geneseo women captured its 24th State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) title with 964 team points, Saturday night at the Burt Flickinger Center at Erie Community College.
Meghan Bartlett from Fredonia was the women's 3-meter dive champion with 489.30 points.
Top swimming and diving awards were announced Saturday night. New Paltz's Cassidy Griger was honored with the Grace Mowatt award given to a female senior for overall academic and athletic excellence throughout their collegiate career. Grace Mowatt was a long time swimming coach at Oswego State, was a pioneer of Women's Swimming in the SUNYAC.
Geneseo's Hailey Modelewski was named the Swimmer of the Meet for winning titles in the 200 individual medley, 100 butterfly and 200 butterfly.
Cortland's Miranda Furgus won the Diver of the Meet award. With a SUNYAC tile in the 1-meter dive and a second place finish in the 3-meter dive Furgus tallied the most points overall in the meet.
Geneseo coach, Paul Dotterweich was selected as the women's Coach of the Year while Geneseo's diving coach, Shawn Austin was named the Diving Coach of the Year. These awards are voted on by all conference coaches.
Geneseo's Nancy Nasky broke the conference and meet record in the 1650 freestyle finishing in 17:07.27 to top the 17:09.21 record set by Chelsea Allocco (New Paltz) in 2013.
