CORTLAND, N.Y. – Geneseo junior Mai Hashimoto (Chigasaki, Japan) has been selected the inaugural State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Women's Tennis Player of the Week. The award was announced by the conference office in Cortland, N.Y., on Tuesday, Sept. 9, for matches contested Aug. 29 – Sept. 7.

Hashimoto posted a 5-0 mark during the opening week of the season, earning a sixth singles at Nazareth on Sept. 4 before sweeping through four matches to capture the Flight C bracket at the 2014 Mary Hosking Invitational. The two-day Hosking tournament was hosted by William Smith in Geneva, N.Y., Sept. 6-7.

Hashimoto also posted a 1-1 doubles mark with partner Anika Pompitaksuk to earn an overall record of 6-1 on the court during the opening week of the season.
