2014 SUNYAC Tennis Championship bracket set for Oct. 10-12

After the final west division match today, the bracket is set for the 2014 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Tennis Championship. The tournament will take place October 10-12 and will be played at the Binghamton Tennis Center for the third year after being relocated from the Eastside Racquet Club in 2012.

Each SUNYAC team played the three opponents in its division to determine the east and west rankings for the championship tournament. New Paltz and Geneseo both went 3-0 in their division to capture the No. 1 seed in the east and west division respectively. Geneseo is the reigning SUNYAC Champion winning the title the last three consecutive years and seven times since 1984.

Following New Paltz in the east division is No. 2 seed Cortland, No. 3 Oneonta and No. 4 Plattsburgh. Succeeding Geneseo in the west division is Brockport at No. 2 while Oswego is No. 3 and Fredonia is No. 4.

On Friday, October 10, Cortland and Oswego will begin the tournament at 11:30 a.m. followed by Geneseo and Plattsburgh at 2 p.m. New Paltz will take on Fredonia at 4:30 p.m. and the final matches of day one will be between Brockport and Oneonta at 7 p.m.
