New Paltz and Geneseo to Play for 2024 SUNYAC Women's Tennis Title

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - New Paltz defeated Oneonta, 5-0 and Geneseo topped Cortland, 5-3, in the SUNYAC women's tennis semifinals, Friday at the Binghamton University Lane - Starke Tennis Center.

The Hawks will face the Knights in the SUNYAC women's tennis championship, Saturday at 1 p.m. New Paltz will look to defend the trophy and win its ninth overall women's tennis conference title while Geneseo will play to capture it's 12th crown in program history.

Elite 20

The SUNYAC Elite 20, an award modeled after the NCAA ELITE 90 program, recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the conference championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers.

Cortland's Emma Madigan was honored Friday with this year's Women's Tennis Elite 20 award. She is a junior psychology major with a 3.98 cumulative GPA.
