New Paltz and Fredonia to play for 2014 SUNYAC volleyball crown
NEW PALTZ, N.Y. - New Paltz (30-5) and Fredonia (22-10) will face off in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) volleyball championship match, Sunday at noon at the New Paltz Hawk Center.
No. 2 Fredonia defeated No. 6 Buffalo State, 3-1, (16-25, 25-23, 25-16, 25-23) Saturday in the first SUNYAC semifinal. Top-seeded New Paltz beat No. 4 Brockport, 3-0, (25-8, 25-21, 25-15) in the second semifinal.
The Hawks defeated the Blue Devils 3-1, (25-27, 25-17, 25-13, 26-24) when they met last - October 24. Both teams look to capture its second SUNYAC title overall. New Paltz won its first crown in 2009 while Fredonia won in 2008.
