Geneseo's Sara Rosenweig and Cortland's Gabe Rodriguez were honored as the first-ever State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Men's and Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Year. The two runners were the first freshmen to cross the finish line on the women's and men's side respectively, Saturday at the SUNYAC Championships.

Rosenweig finished the 6K distance 9th overall in 22:29.8 and earned a spot on the SUNYAC All-Conference Second Team. Cortland, ranked 12th nationally in Div. III in the latest USTFCCA poll, won its 14th SUNYAC team title and first since 2008.

Rodriguez was 13th overall finishing the 8K course in 25:41.7 and was named to the SUNYAC All-Conference Third Team. Geneseo won it's third straight conference team title and 13th overall
