
Cortland Earns Two Spots on USILA Men's Lacrosse All-America Team

Cortland men's lacrosse junior midfielder Ryan Scanlon (Cornelius, NC/William Amos Hough) and junior short-stick midfielder Alex Thrasher (Vestal) have been named 2024 Division III honorable mention All-Americans by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA).
Scanlon played in 16 games, 15 as a starter, and finished the season with 25 goals and 17 assists for 42 points. He also registered 24 ground balls and four caused turnovers. Scanlon tied for third on the team in assists and was fourth in goals and points. He finished with four goals and two assists in a win at Oswego, four goals and an assist at RIT, and four goals in a win over Plattsburgh.
Thrasher recorded 48 ground balls, 18 caused turnovers and three goals in 16 contests. He tied for first on the team in caused turnovers and was second in ground balls. He scooped up six ground balls in a regular-season win at Potsdam and caused three turnovers at Ithaca.
Cortland finished the season with an 11-5 record. The Red Dragons won the SUNYAC regular-season title with a 7-0 record before falling by a goal to Potsdam in the conference tournament semifinals.
