Choukri and Ott Tabbed SUNYAC Men's Soccer Athletes of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - SUNYAC recognizes Cortland teammates Yasin Choukri and Jordan Ott as its Men's Soccer Offensive and Defensive Athletes of the Week respectively.

Choukri had a pair of strong performances for the nationally 25th-ranked Red Dragons, scoring six points on three goals, including one game-winning goal, to lead Cortland to a 2-0 week in SUNYAC play. Choukri scored both goals for the Red Dragons on Saturday in a 2-0 win at Potsdam, knocking a shot into the bottom right corner of the net for the game winner in the 68th minute and then adding an insurance goal in the 73rd minute to secure the win. The senior also netted Cortland's third goal in a 3-1 victory on the road at Oswego on Wednesday, blasting a left-footed shot from outside of the penalty area into the top left corner of the net.

Ott earns the SUNYAC Defensive Athlete of the Week award for the second time this seash after he recorded a pair of victories in goal for the nationally 25th-ranked Red Dragons last week. He did not allow a goal in open play while sporting a 0.50 goals against average, a .857 save percentage, and one shutout. The junior stopped all four shots he faced in a 2-0 win at Potsdam on Saturday, including three saves with the game still scoreless. Ott also made two saves in a 3-1 victory at Oswego on Wednesday, with the only goal allowed coming on a penalty kick.
